Since its establishment in 1994, the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine has served as Korea’s leading national research institute dedicated to advancing the scientific validation, standardization, and global outreach in Korean Medicine. KIOM has honored the values of tradition while opening new horizons for the future and our accumulated research achievements have contributed in meaningful ways to improving the health and well-being of the people.
Today, we face profound changes in the healthcare environment, including the transition to a super-aged society and the rising prevalence of chronic diseases. The healthcare paradigm is shifting toward prevention, management, and lifelong care. Korean Medicine holds significant potential to meet these emerging needs.
Building on our strong foundation, KIOM will rigorously validate the strengths of Korean Medicine and translate them into meaningful benefits for everyday life. Through bold and innovative research, we will lead changes in the evolving healthcare landscape and continue to expand the possibilities of Korean Medicine.
We will also strengthen our leadership in Age-Tech and drive the development of future medical technologies by integrating Korean Medicine with artificial intelligence and advanced biotechnology.
