WHO Collaborating Center
The Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM) has been designated as WHO Collaborating Center (WHO CC)or Traditional Medicine as of February 24th, 2011.
The main goals of our institute as a WHO CC are as follows :
- To contribute to WHO efforts to promote evidence-based TM including its interactions with other medicines to ensure safe and appropriate use of herbal medicine
- To support WHO efforts in the implementation of Strategy and improving information for TM
- To contribute to WHO efforts in strengthening human resources for TM by providing training opportunities for the developing countries in the Western Pacific Reg
KIOM will continually pursue activities to promote human health and welfare through strong partnership and cooperation with WHO.
